Abstract :
This paper introduces the European COST Action IC0603 "ASSIST" "Antennas and Sensors for Information Society Technologies". It starts with the historical background which motivated the Action and continues with a description of its internal organization and structure. In the last part, the current scientific achievements obtained by the Action partners are discussed through some relevant examples.
