Abstract :
Summary form only given. Spatial and temporal variations of plasma density, temperature and potential are measured in a simulated Plasma Display Panel (PDP) cell by using a fast-scanning electric probe system. A PDP simulator was made 200 times bigger than the actual cell. Effect of collisionality on the probe analysis is discussed and changes of plasma parameters due to different gases (Ar, He, Xe) are shown. Thermalizations of electrons are analyzed by comparing the data of single probe with those of triple probe. Time dependent plasma properties are also measured at 5 points within one period (20 kHz) using a single probe with sub harmonic sweep frequency (200 Hz) of applied AC power supply and 100 kHz sampling rate.
