Abstract
The UFORIC control plane exploits a novel concept of utilising integrity vectors associated with an optical path or payload and processing these vectors using reprogrammable digital logic. UFORIC offers ultra-fast routing and wavelength assignment whilst considering optical impairments for short-lived service requests transported as wavelengths, optical bursts, timeslots or packets.
