Abstract :
This paper presents a novel optical router controller for asynchronous, variable-length packet switching with fast, fair, and wavelength-aware arbitration. The efficient hardware implementations are evaluated in terms of the area and delay for various switch sizes with the Xilinx XCV1000E field programmable gate array (FPGA) chip.
