Abstract :
This paper presents an approach to the modelling of structures with uncertainty in their constituent´s position where the variation is assumed to take the form of a Gaussian random variable. A time varying transmission-line modelling (TLM) approach is developed allowing dynamic placement of structural boundaries. This model is then used in a 3D example to quantify the impact of structural variations and the results compared with those of an alternative Unscented Transform based static method and an analytical solution.
