Abstract :
We define two broad classes of unitary operator families termed modulation and warping operators. Some fundamental relations connecting these operators are shown. Application of the characteristic function method and the covariance method to modulation and warping operators yields joint (a, b), (α, β), and time-frequency signal representations that satisfy marginal and covariance properties
