Abstract :
We present an ultra wideband residual dispersion compensation fiber by using a novel and very simple geometry obtained by introducing an air hole at the center of a step index fiber. We can achieve high negative values for the chromatic dispersion for a wideband covering from the E to L wavelength band. The chromatic dispersion and the chromatic dispersion slope can be tailored by an appropriate choosing of the fiber parameters.
