Abstract :
In order to reduce the influence of illumination variation on the result of face detection and recognition, it is necessary to compensate illumination of face images. In this paper, Gamma correction method was applied to compensate illumination. What´s more, Gamma curve was improved through constructing nonlinear function, which made the adaptive ability of the Gamma correction better in the illumination compensation. The experimental results show that the proposed method can improve face images quality in uneven illumination conditions and reduce the distortion of images.
