Abstract :
In this paper a novel and efficient 3D vectorial beam propagation scheme, based on the split-operator technique in conjunction with a hybrid vectorial finite element method is reported. The present algorithm takes into account optical waveguides with arbitrary cross-section and inhomogeneous isotropic, lossy media, including metallizations and also nonlinearities
