Abstract :
This paper describes the design, construction and testing of a 150 kVA matrix converter induction motor drive. The converter has been built using 600 Amp, 1400 Volt IGBTs. This paper outlines the design and construction of this converter, which is the largest matrix converter built to date. The converter has been tested using a 150 HP induction motor load. Practical test and simulation results for output powers up to 150 kVA are presented.
