  • Abstract
Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a VHF digital mobile communication system based on Self-Organized TDMA (SOTDMA) protocol. By the analysis of the technical characteristics of the shore-based AIS network, this paper discussed the problem of slot reuse which will impact the AIS transmission links. And then it analyzed and calculated the main technical parameters of shore-based AIS network, such as the link capacity and the net throughput. By the experiments this paper proposed the measures to improve the net throughput and brought out the demarcation method and layout design of the shore-based AIS network. The study resolves the problem of slot reuse and will be available to ensure the vessel data link stable and reliable.
