Abstract
We propose a new design of compact microstrip antenna with a pair of narrow slots in parallel with the capacitive coupling slot. It is found that the longer the narrow slots we choose, the lower the fundamental resonant frequency can be obtained. Reduced antenna size at a fixed frequency can thus be achieved for the proposed design. Two designs of the compact microstrip antennas with a pair of slots paralleling to the capacitive coupling slot CPW feed have been successfully implemented. Details of the experimental results are presented and discussed.
