Abstract
The BOR-FDTD technique is used to determine the return loss and radiation patterns of a corrugated horn. The perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary conditions are used for the computation. The source excitation is a sine-modulated Gaussian pulse, spatially weighted with the cylindrical TE/sub 11/ mode fields. The results for the return loss and radiation patterns are compared with those obtained using a commercial package based on the mode matching/method of moments technique. The results show excellent agreement.
