Abstract
A programming model for instrument calibration system is designed applying the concepts and techniques of software architecture. The model consists of two parts: one is the instrument calibration framework that provides an infrastructure and general functions to the calibration system, and the other is the calibration component library that performs different instrument calibration tasks. A calibration system was implemented applying this model and it was proved that different instruments could be calibrated correctly. At the same time the reusability, flexibility, extensibility and maintainability of the system was well improved.
