Abstract :
Broadband proximity fed variations of shorted Sectoral Microstrip antennas, derived from equivalent isosceles triangular microstrip antennas are proposed. With decrease in Sectoral angle from 120° to 50°, the fundamental mode resonance frequency of shorted Sectoral patch decreases and it yields bandwidth of 1710 MHz (~70%) in 120° Sectoral MSA to 436 MHz (~45%) in 50° Sectoral MSA. The proposed Sectoral antennas show broadside radiation pattern with a gain of more than 5 dBi over most of the bandwidth.
