Abstract :
This paper analyzed the performance of AIS (Automatic Identification System) communication protocol-SOTDMA (Self-Organized TDMA), and simulated the time slot occupied schedule of AIS. By the result of simulation it brought forth the measures to increase the capacity of the AIS network in different conditions. And it also discussed how to avoid the network congestion in crowded vessel traffic service (VTS) area. The study of this paper is available for the vessel traffic management and is meaningful for keeping the AIS network more stably.
