Abstract :
This paper presents a new approach for the evaluation of the long-term effects of demand side management (DSM) programs on load pattern. The proposed method implies fuzzy numbers to model the main uncertainties of the demand side reactions to the proposed DSM program. Here, the social classes of customers and their behaviors regarding energy utilization are considered. Furthermore, the time dependency of the problem parameters is taken into account. Without loss of generality, the paper focuses on the efficiency improvement of the electric appliance as a long-term DSM program, due to its considerable share in electricity consumption in residential sector. Finally, the numerical results of a case study are presented.
