Abstract
This paper presents a digital pole placement controller for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The digital pole placement controller is used for speed control of this type of motors. The dynamic response of the (PMSM) with the proposed controller is studied during the starting process under the full load torque and under load disturbance. The effectiveness of the proposed digital pole placement controller is then compared with that of the conventional PI controller. The proposed controller is used in order to overcome the nonlinearity problem of PMSM and the parameter variations.
