Abstract
In order to define safety requirements for an interlocking system, the hazards associated with the controlled traffic process, their causes, the intensity of their occurrence, their consequences and also the tolerable risk must be known. The analysis of the causes of hazards related to the train movement in a track section and the principle of the division of tolerable hazard rate for each part of the interlocking system (that ensures the safety of the control of train movements in track section) are the main topics of this paper.
