Abstract
A method for the analysis and design of radial-line filters is presented. The proposed method of analysis is the mode-matching method combined with the use of the generalized scattering matrix concept. This method has the advantage that it does not require symmetry of the structure, and therefore a wider variety of radial line filters can be analyzed. A modification of the double-section radial-line filter with asymmetrical geometry is presented. The frequency response is obtained and compared to the response of other radial line filters. The influence of various geometrical parameters is also studied. Results are presented which illustrate the effect on the filter response of the most sensitive geometrical parameters
