Abstract :
Transport control protocol (TCP) is the most widely used transport protocol in the Internet. However, there are several performance issues related to TCP when used in wireless ad hoc networks. We compare the performance of TCP flows with directional and omni-directional antennas. We find that directional antennas improve TCP throughput up to 115% and reduce the MAC layer losses by 200%
