Abstract :
The paper presents results of frequency domain measurements conducted using a channel sounder with a 2 GHz sweep bandwidth to characterise the effect of receive antenna directivity on the root mean square (RMS) delay spread and coherence bandwidth in a long narrow corridor in the band 63.4 GHz to 65.4 GHz. Measurements were conducted under identical test conditions using directional and omnidirectional receive antennas. The RMS delay spread (τrms) and coherence bandwidth (βc) of the channel are also presented as functions of distance between terminals for both antenna configurations. The levels below which βc stays for 90% of receiver positions are given for correlation factors of 0.9, 0.7 and 0.5, together with the cumulative distribution functions (CDFs) of τrms. The relationship between βc and τrms is also presented.
