  • Abstract
This paper is about new object-oriented (OO) operating systems. Two of the main ideas behind OO technology are encapsulation and inheritance. Encapsulation is the user´s view of objects, and inheritance is both the user´s and the implementor´s view of objects. Encapsulation focuses on the client interface to an object library or framework, while inheritance focuses on the relationships between the abstraction and on subclassing and overriding to modify the default behavior or to implement the defined functions in the class interface. An example, based on a common object/spl minus/a window/spl minus/demonstrates these two main ideas of OO technology.<>
