A model-free iterative feedback tuning (IFT) scheme has been proposed for nonlinear plants and/or controllers. This iterative control strategy only uses closed loop data. In this paper, we examine the applicability of IFT for the tuning of a nonlinear controller for an inverted pendulum with flexible transmission
