  • Abstract
The Precision RISC Organization (PRO) has a unique business model in order to deliver PA-RISC products and standards to the market while instilling confidence in end users for PRO standard compliant solutions. PRO defined a standards-based conformance environment which includes standards, a testing and validation tool set and process, and a branding program for conformant applications and platforms. Members worked together to define and adopt standards for the systems area, while collaborating on informal standards for the chips. Members continue to interface in task groups to jointly promote these standards and soon-to-be announced products. Many PRO members have bilateral business relationships as a result of their PRO connections, providing access to new distribution channels and customers, and to key technologies.<>
