Abstract :
A novel multiple access and resource allocation scheme, suitable for the high bit rate radio-LAN (R-LAN) application, has been developed. The scheme is known as graph theoretic multiple access (GTMA) which is an adaptive scheme allocating the time slices of the bandwidth to the active users and hence controlling the co-channel reuse of these time slots. The bandwidth allocation per radio cell can be improved by a factor of two compared with conventional TDMA (time division multiple allocation) methods. The network bandwidth allocation improvement and delay versus throughput are examined in terms of server availability and normalised arrival rates
