Abstract :
Cellular digital packet data (CDPD) has been established as a packet data service for the analog system AMPS. The performance of the packet data service will depend on the RF random access method along with the higher level protocols. CDPD uses two RF channels as a slotted nonpersistent multiple access system with collision detection. This paper develops a random access model, along with a receiver capture probability model, to study the performance of CDPD
