Abstract :
The concept of Intelligent Grid Management System (IGMS) was proposed to solve the issues concerning economics aspects, aged equipment, reliability etc. in modern transmission and distribution (T&D) systems. In IGMS, the patterns of system failure were chronologically simulated using the sequential Monte Carlo method, and the total T&D cost composed of T&D loss, overload cost, outage cost, maintenance cost, repair cost etc. was estimated with nonlinear programming. The minimization procedure of the total T&D cost was clarified. And the prospects of optimizing the maintenance strategy were obtained by calculating the total T&D cost for several maintenance methods.
