Abstract
In this paper, two different control techniques-phase-shift control and PWM control are presented for an AC VRM topology used in high frequency AC power distribution systems. By employing these two different control techniques, the performance of the AC VRM in terms of power factor, total harmonic distortion in input current, zero voltage switching, voltage stress of the active switches and the overall efficiency are compared. Simulation and experimental results are presented to prove the theoretical concept.
