Abstract :
Synchronization is a key problem of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. A method of timing synchronization and frequency offset estimation for OFDM systems based on PN sequence is proposed in this paper, which utilizes one special training sequence to overcome the shortcomings of the synchronization method proposed by Schmidl & Cox[1]. Both theoretical analysis and simulation show that the proposed method has a better performance in timing synchronization and only a little resource loss.
