  • Abstract
This paper presents the project ldquourban planning for radio communicationsrdquo which is part of ldquoSystem@ticrdquo Paris-Region Cluster, one of the French Lt pole of competitiveness Gt initiative. We present first an overview of the project which deals with spectrum scarcity issues in crowded cities. We browse the different technical aspects addressed in the project and the corresponding challenges. We then present, as an example, the recent results of two particular topics studied in the project: one related to the system architecture dealing with the radio enabler concept and the other one related to radio access about hybrid ARQ.
