  • Abstract
Scientific background of CFD code for calculation of flowfield around model in a wind tunnel (WT) is described. Special attention is paid on formulation of WT-type boundary condition on the walls. 3D structured grid for calculations is constructed by means of multiblock technology. Blocks are based on patches interactively created on a model surface. Code may be installed using multiprocessor Personal Computers. It is shown that preliminary calculation is an essential part of experimental methodology. It can be used at different steps of WT tests´ preparation. Preliminary information obtained due to calculations gives an idea of experimental study, helps to adjust experimental gauges, permits to adjust WT parameters, provides better understanding experimental data. As example of technology implementation, CFD code is used for experimental study of mixer-ejector nozzle. CFD and PSP are accompanied with total and static pressure measurements, visualization, strain gauges and noise evaluations. All the data together permit to create the nozzle of better quality and estimate the level of noise around it. Main idea of proposed report is to demonstrate the benefit of joint efforts of CFD and experimental teams
