  • Abstract
In this paper, after an introduction on mobile satellite systems, the CIR (carrier-to-interference ratio) is introduced as a measure of quality of a satellite uplink and downlink. The difference between CIR up and CIRdown is illustrated. Three CIR based DCA strategies for MSS´s suitable for FDMA, TDMA and channelised CDMA, are presented and discussed. Based on realistic mobility and traffic models, the performance of the proposed DCA schemes is evaluated by simulation. Finally, simulation results are presented and discussed
