Abstract :
This paper describes statistical models in terms of signal envelope and signal phase probability distribution for both fixed and mobile satellite communications channels at Ka band (20/30 GHz). Statistical models for eleven different weather conditions are given for the fixed satellite communications channels. Also, statistical models for light to medium shadowing, medium to heavy shadowing and heavy shadowing are given for the land mobile satellite communications channels at Ka band. The results described should be useful for the design of fixed and mobile satellite communications at Ka band
