Abstract :
With the development of Smart Grids, a better coordination between Dynamic Lightning Protection (DLP) and Smart Grids State Estimation is proposed by this paper, in order to ensure the reasonable dynamic preventive actions. The evaluations on both static and dynamic lightning performance of a power grid are discussed. Two power grid lightning warning methods, multilevel and multisection warning methods, are described. A Smart Grids general state estimation method based on real time lightning detection and warning, is also proposed. The paper shows that coordination between DLP and Smart Grids State Estimation would guide the effective dynamic actions, so as to improve the lightning performance of a Smart Grid.
