Abstract
The use of mobile communications systems is rapidly increasing as the mobile public´s thirst for fast, reliable information expands and the economic pressure of less fuel at higher cost is felt. Aiming at this market, an A.M.P.S. call processing logic and 10- kilobit-per-second data modem was designed for Bell Telephone Laboratories cellular telephone market trial in Chicago. This paper reviews some of the goals and results of the project and describes the system.
