Abstract :
OFDM with coding has been proposed as an effective means for achieving high bit rates in wireless environments. Turbo codes have been shown to give near-capacity performance in AWGN and fading channels and is being considered to enhance mobile wireless channel performance. In this paper, we present simulation results for the performance of a turbo coded OFDM system with coherent modulation over the frequency selective fading channel. In order to provide the channel estimate required in the receiver we employ a linear two dimensional pilot assisted channel estimation algorithm. The system performance employing the linear two dimensional pilot assisted channel estimation algorithm is compared to the ideal case with perfect channel estimation
