Abstract :
LXI is the new generation test systems bus which is based on using Ethernet technology. Adopting Ethernet as the bus for instruments communication, LXI can take advantages of the Ethernet. In terms of the realization for a LXI instruments, the most important part is the design of the communication module of LXI instruments, except for the essential function for test. The module must meet the need of the communication in the Ethernet, as well as, realize the specification of the software trigger and the hardware trigger, which is the central technology of the design for LXI instruments. This paper presents the critical technology of the communication module of LXI instruments and the approach to implement some function, which is based on using 8 bit MCU. For the sake of the LXI communication module´s application in the advanced instruments, the paper gives a scheme to design intellectualized LXI communication module based on the MCU with ARM core.
