Abstract
This paper describes some design concepts and design parameters of newly developed SSB Lincompex (Linked Compressor and Expander) equipment for land-mobile use in VHF band. The results of the laboratory and the field tests carried out in the urban area of Tokyo revealed some advantageous characteristics of SSB Lincompex equipment in 150 MHz band. Through these tests, it becomes clear that the channel spacing of nearly 6 kHz will be feasible by the SSB Lincompex System.
