Abstract :
This paper represents results of research, development and field experience of multi-chamber arresters and insulators that combine characteristics of insulators and arresters. Application of these devices allows to protect overhead power lines rated at 6 to 405 kV and above from induced overvoltages and direct lightning strokes without usage of shielding wire.
