Abstract :
This paper shows the use of TETRA standard to provide a telecontrol service belonging to a medium size power utility. We introduce the concepts of TETRALAN architecture to support communications inside a substation and TETRAWAN architecture as the backbone radio network. Finally, system performance studies are carried out and a possible enhancement using silence gaps existing in voice conversations is proposed
