Abstract :
This paper deals with the modelling of the microcellular radio wave propagation from the point of view of the radio network planning. Two propagation models, a so-called 3D-model based on the UTD and a ray-launching method, and the COST-Walfish-Ikegami-model, were implemented and some results of comparing the predicted and measured field strength (at 2 GHz) are presented. Both propagation models require 3D building data. Several methods for gaining these data are reported and their feasibility is discussed
