Abstract
The world´s pager market shows rapid growth. People want their pagers to be able to receive more information. To accommodate these demands, the FLEX-TD high-speed radio paging system was developed and standardized in Japan as an enhanced new generation high capacity paging system. The FLEX-TD system employs time diversity (TD) reception to obtain good page success rates and to minimize the number of base stations necessary to duplicate the service area of the conventional system. This paper focuses on the TD reception schemes employed and discusses their performance
