            Abstract : 
This paper designs all kinds of parameters of YH20CX2-370/1050 the first 500 kV line ZnO surge arrester polymeric housed with no-supporting series gap in China. The key of designing line arrester is choosing the length of no-supporting series gap. Through studying working status of the series gap and a series of tests, this paper gives out the correct gap length. Results of sort tests under technical requirements prove that all the parameters of YH20CX2-370/1050 in this design are configured correctly and achieve to the needed expectation.
