Abstract
We demonstrate the possibility of an all-optical device suitable for wavelength routing, through BER measurements and power transfer functions, based on multi-wavelength generation in dispersion shifted optical fibre due to the Kerr nonlinearity. The main characteristics of such a device are the large number of generated spectral components that permit one to cover the ITU-grid and the reshaper behaviour observed in the converted signals.
