Abstract
This paper describes the hardware configuration and software development in the BASIC language version 5.0 for automated radiated emission measurements from 18-40 GHz. Harmonic mixers are used to extend the range of the spectrum analyzer up to 40 GHz. The instrumentation consists of spectrum analyzer with a GPIB interface, harmonic mixers, instrument controller, XY plotter, printer and a double ridged guide antenna covering the desired frequency range of 18-40 GHz. The software developed is user friendly having features like, a test library for storing different test setup parameters, a data library for storing test data, a display of measured data on the monitor and a selectable frequency range. The test results can be plotted using XY plotter and the values can be repeated through the main menu of the software
