Abstract
The year 2006, is the 60th anniversary of the world´s oldest professional computer organization, the IEEE Computer Society. I have been asked to devise a competition for undergraduate students to celebrate the society´s anniversary. This work in progress describes how the competition has been set up and what it is intended to achieve. Teams of students have been given five months to create a Web site illustrating a theme in the history of computing. Students may select any topic; however, they have been told that ingenuity and originality will be strongly rewarded. The proposed competition will take the form of a Web-based competition that stresses a range of academic skills, personal skills, and a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving
