Abstract
The author discusses the definition of a computer science kernel in EE (electrical engineering) degree programs. This kernel includes programming and problem solving, digital systems and computer architecture, and systems programming and operating systems. The author suggests that wide acceptance of one such kernel would play an influential role in the improvement of the computer science contents of EE education as well facilitate the equivalence of EE degrees across Europe
