  • Abstract
A thermal cleaning technique was used to determine the distribution of activation energies associated with the Tg (glass transition temperature) peak in the TSDC (thermally stimulated discharge current) spectrum for a cured epoxy resin, MY750/HY956. In this technique the sample, after polarization, is partially heated, and then cooled, followed by reheating to a higher temperature, to produce current temperature curves. By repetition several such curves can be obtained from which the distribution of activation enthalpies can be determined from an Arrhenius plot of the initial current rise of each separate curve. The effects of dose on Tg are evaluated
