Abstract :
In the previous presentations on this course you will have heard about many aspects of railway systems and control. What this paper presents is an understanding of how we can operate a railway system safely. The word “system” is used deliberately as any railway contains many different elements, all of which must work together in a controlled way to preserve the overall integrity of the system.
